This painting grew from time spent painting on a remote cattle station, and in an Indigenous community, where the landscape felt layered with presence and lived experience. Moving through these environments brought a strong awareness of depth — in the land, in life, and in the quiet relationships between people, and place. The colours and reflections seemed heightened, as if everything carried its own story within the vastness.
Worked in loose, intuitive layers, the painting brings together impressions rather than a single scene. Earth tones, shifting light, and flowing forms echo the feeling of being immersed in a living landscape — one shaped by nature, time, and human connection.
